- $25
- $10 for one hour for archery
- $10 for swimming. They do not offer the rest of the choices.
- $10 hr for Archery and Lifeguards; High/Low Rope Course & Zip Line go together - about $40 per girl, per session (two sessions to complete all); Canoeing is about $4.00 per girl plus lifeguard fee and canoe instructor fee, also about $10 per hour
- $10 per session per day plus cost of staff
- $10-$30 either per hour or per girl
- $10.00 - $60.00
- $100 for trained/certified staff member plus rental fees
- $100 per trained personnel
- $12-$14 per girl
- $12-23 for archery
- $15 + for all except canoeing ($2 per canoes)
- $15-$25 ish
- $15.00 pp Archery
- $20 for archery; $20 for 2.5 hours of swimming and/or canoeing
- $20 per item
- $20 per person for weekend
- $20 per person to camp to use the property. After a lot of complaints, we now have a day-use fee for Daisy level of $10. I cannot justify taking my troop to camp to hike, learn outdoor skills, etc. when it is $10/person in addition to whatever other costs.
- $20 plus
- $200.00 to rent boats, plus you need to find your own facilitator, which is another $150.00
- $23/girl. An increase of $11 from last year
- $25 for horseback riding.
- $3 per hour per child for swimming
- $3-30, depending on the activity. This doesn't include the cost of a trained facilitator, necessary for the activity to be held.
- $30 per girl for Ropes course - not sure on Winter Sports - usually a winter day event and that is reasonable around $10 per girl I think
- $30 to $40
- $40 for four hours for archery
- $5 - $8 for swimming, archery and canoeing. other activities listed above go from $20 to $40 a girl and that is cost prohibitive for us
- $5 for archery, not sure about canoeing
- $5 per girl minimum 10 girls
- $5-$25 per person depending on activity and we have to pay certified people on top of that
- $50 for horseback riding, $25 for other challenge activities
- $50 for the equipment + payment for the additional staff needed if the leaders are not certified
- $50 or more each
- $50-75, plus fees to facilitators
- $500/unit with flushies
- $6-22 per girl, depending on activity, with Archery, swimming, winter sports at the cheaper end. Boating, ropes/climbing, horses at the higher end.
- $60 for weekend lodge
- $7 - $15 per girl
- $7-$10 per person, depending on the activity.
- 1.5 hours for the troop is $55 for archery canoeing geocaching etc. For certification level classes for canoeing etc varies but usually 15-20 per girl.
- 12 - 35.............. and my council charges for any activity. And the only way to get some of these activities is to go to resident camp
- 2 nights of camp with lodging+food+horseback riding = $95
- 20/canoe/day, 5/archer/day
- 23.00 per 3 hour session on zip. would need to look up others
- A charge per person. Swimming requires a lifeguard which is costly, too.
- Activities are all included in the package price
- All activities have a fee and it is usually expensive. It is significantly less expensive for our troop to do these activities on our own rather than with the Council. (An average of 50% savings)
- All programs cost something, typically $10-$20 per girl
- Approx. $10.00 per girl
- Approx. $17 per girl for a 2 hour session. If you are trained as a facilitator items cost $25 to hire equipment for the whole troop. Facilitator courses are not widely available through the area though. Catered camping is $45 a girl, and same for adults who are there to chaperone, I was shocked to not see a reduced rate when no activities are laid on for adults.
- Archery $30 hour, Canoeing $50 hour, Hayride $25 hour, not sure about others
- Archery - cost of equipment rental & you must provide your own instructor. Equipment is $5 per two girls at last check. If you do not have a connection to an instructor, I can see that becoming costly. I believe the same holds true for canoeing. While there is a pool at our closest camp, it is only used for resident camp - same with horseback riding. There is a ropes course at our local camp, but I have yet to find out how we are able to use it and if there is a cost involved. I am unaware if we have a zip line.
- Archery & low ropes, $25 for a 2-3 hour slot.
- Archery $10 per girl
- Archery $10 per person, I don't know the cost of the others off hand
- Archery $10pp, Low Ropes $12 pp, Climbing wall $15 pp
- Archery $25, Canoeing/kayaking $25
- Archery $3/hr per person, Canoeing $30/hr for up to 14 canoes, Challenge course $100 full day, $50/half day, or $30/hour, Pool $20/hour or $110 for 8am-5pm. Adults must provide/find their own instructors for archery, canoeing, and challenge course, and lifeguards for pool.
- Archery $30 I think this is reasonable but fees should be going to the upkeep of the Archery equipment and it does not look liked they have been.
- Archery $35/2hours (bring your own council trained adult), Swimming $70/hour (bring your own lifeguard), Low ropes $150/2hours/15 people, facilitator provided, High Ropes $260/4hours/15 people, facilitator provided
- Archery $5 per person. Canoeing not sure
- Archery 10 per day, Canoe 10 per canoe per day, Swimming at pool on camp property 50per day
- Archery about $7, canoeing $10, horseback riding starts at $25
- Archery at camp was $75 plus the weekly camp fee
- Archery is about $5 per girl - all others are higher, ranging into the mid 20's (possibly more because I haven't looked into horseback riding lately)
- Archery Range $15/session, trained facilitator required - Swimming Pool $20/session, trained lifeguard required - Canoes/Kayaks $2/boat/session, trained lifeguard/facilitator required
- Around $12 per girl
- Average is $6-8 per girl, sometimes leaders/chaperones must pay as well.
- Between 5 and 10 dollars per participant, with a minimum number of participants between 7 and 10
- Boating, archery, snowshoeing, or ropes course are $10 per person. Other activities (swimming) are only available during mom and me weekends in summer ($110 per person for the weekend). Horseback riding and skiing are add-ons at nearby facilities.
- Building $200 to use a screened in space. To use a kitchen is another$200 charge plus we have to hire a kitchen staff that charges by the meal.
- Camps we have gone to like horses is $350
- Can't find any information on if they charge or not.
- Canoe $13, Archery $10, Horseback riding $10
- Canoeing $16 per person. Archery is not a separate event, it is part of summer overnight camping (3 days $145). She and Me overnight camping $30 per person.
- Canoeing is $5 for an hour per person. Swimming is $5 for an hour per person. Archery is $5 for an hour per person. Horseback riding depends on the type, but around $20 per person per hour Rope Course is about $25 - $50 per hour per person. Ziplining is $50 per hour per person.
- Cost seems to vary and is unpredictable. Last time I heard, using high ropes courses cost $100 minimum even with trained volunteer facilitators, more if council staff facilitated. The volunteer facilitators point out that the useful life of the ropes used is measured in time, not in number of uses, and that high charges that have the effect of preventing use therefore don't make economic sense either--the ropes will be replaced when they "expire" whether they've been used or not. Our CFO doesn't seem to truly grasp the idea that lower cost brings higher use volume, happier Girl Scouts and leaders, and works as a membership retention tool.
- Council charges for everything. And we had difficulty getting refunded after they canceled an event on us.
- Council does not offer troop camping
- Council doesn't offer to open most activities, but the ones that do all require an additional fee.
- Depending on the activities scheduled for the weekend, fees vary
- Depends on if the leader is trained to used equipment. Generally if we are camping the pools are closed,
- Depends on the camp, the activity we select, the cost of hiring a facilitator. For example, looking at the climbing wall and zipline for our SU camporee next April is $25 for the first hour for each activity plus an additional $10/hour after that. That's the facilitator charge.
- Do not know/ unsure (9 responses)
- Don’t know off-hand. But, we must pay extra for all of those activities. And if we want to schedule for a troop-only event it's very difficult because there are so few who are trained/approved to do so at our GS camp.
- Event registration
- Extra 20
- Facilitator fees vary. Then there is always a per girl charge as well. Between outrageous campsite fees and requiring 2 night fees whether you can stay 2 nights or not GS. Camp has become too expensive. I have started using non scout properties and state and national parks.
- Fees are nominal, usually $10 or less per person
- Fees are usually about $25 per hour to pay for a facilitator.
- Fees are usually associated with instructor's time. For example, we have to pay for a lifeguard to swim if there is not one already scheduled for the day.
- For any of the above activities you would need to bring your own qualified people...
- For Pick-A-Programs, $6 per girl per activity. Very reasonable, IMO.
- For swimming it is $50 and the cost of lifeguard. For archery/canoeing is is $1.00 per participant and $35 per hour for instructor. Zip line I am not sure as we haven't done it at camp. We also have a rock wall that costs $40 per hour for instructor.
- Generally overpriced for girls to attend
- GSWW- can't find prices on the website. But when I did encampments each had a different hourly rate and fee. Prices are sent to Encampment Directors twice a year in GSWW.
- Hire your own lifeguards for swimming boating. Our service unit owns archery supplies and has certified range officers. We charge $1/girl for the archery.
- Horseback riding $35 per girl, Archery $23 per girl, Repel $23 per girl, Zipline $23 per girl, team building $23 per girl, climbing $23 per girl
- Horseback riding in corral is $25 a scout, for trail ride is $40, however our camp that offers this is being idled starting Nov.2nd
- Horseback riding is around $35-$45, Ropes Course/Zip Line is $110. Right now we have to find our own certified people for archery, swimming and canoeing, but they just started a new system where certified people will be provided one weekend a month for archery/swimming/canoeing. If it's popular they will expand it to additional weekends.
- Horseback riding is only at overnight camps and an appropriate fee is charged.
- I am not familiar with opportunities to use council-owned camp facilities. If they are available, I would like to see the organization advertise this to leaders (via e-mail, Facebook, etc. -- perhaps borrow some bandwidth from the near-daily Girl Scout Store Spam.)
- I am not sure what they charge as the cost of most programs is prohibitive to our families. We have to go outside of GSSEM to provide these activities to our girls.
- I am unsure of fees. Since I don't find it easy to reserve the GS Camp I usually find a different location.
- I believe that it is $35 per activity
- I do not know the exact cost because I do not use our local camp with my troop. I utilize alternate locations, to include our local Boy Scout camp, due to the fact they have better facilities. I am not sure of the exact price difference, but I know the cost is cheaper and includes a lighted pavilion as well as shooting equipment.
- I do not think these are available for troop camping unless it is a council sponsored event.
- I do not think they offer these activities outside of a council event stay at camp foxtail.
- I don't know because they don't offer any of this at our closest camp
- I don't know the charges for the above activities, but I'm sure there is a fee for them.
- I don't know, but the fees are not expensive and go either to the upkeep of equipment or for lifeguard pay.
- I don't think my council even OFFERS those to troop campers outside of council events.
- I don't think there is an extra cost to Council; we would have to find a qualified person for us to do the activity.
- I have not seen our council offer any of the activities listed above. If something like that is offered it seems to be offered by an outside provider, that I have seen. Everything I have seen from council has a fee attached.
- I have spent personal money for lifeguard and boating certification to keep girl costs down
- I haven’t used Council camps until I went to an encampment last month. We have used state and local parks since we were Daisies 5 years ago. I tried to arrange archery and ropes course support for a SU encampment and GSCNC did a poor job of coordinating "high adventure" activity support. My troop used the one tent camping area and the caretaker said it was almost always available.
- I know the amounts that I have checked into is way more than what troop or parents can afford.
- I know there is 25 fee to use property for the orienteering course if you are not using facility
- I think it is in the $50-200 range.
- I was unaware that we could use any of the camp properties for a troop event or overnight. I have never seen a fee schedule or what is available and the extra cost
- I’m not sure any of the camps left have any of these activities.
- I'm really not sure how much it is as the camp is only open during the summer (it is in the high sierras, so you can't get there in winter and sometimes not until June). We have our Service Unit Camporees there. When we do that, it is about 50.00/Scout, 40.00/adult.
- If it is a council run program i.e. there is a facilitator there is a fee. If you are just using some equipment like canoes there is not usually a fee. There was a fee to rent snowshoes. $5/girl. And other fee for cross country skis I think.
- If the camping adventure is planned by the troop, then each additional add-on above is a cost because of safety logistics. If the camp adventure is planned by our council, such as summer camp, then the adventure itself is usually priced higher because the additional fees are already built in.
- If you want to do any of these activities as a troop you have to find your own instructor, make your own arrangements, and pay that person or people separately.
- If your troop wants to camp and wants to do any specialized activities, you have to hire someone to help...a lifeguard or a facilitator.
- Info not readily available at this time.
- It depends on the event. $5-25. I don't know about the other items mentioned.
- It depends on the facilitator for the activity
- It is a basic fee for each area usually not more than $10-$25.00
- It was pretty pricey as you HAD to buy the food service program!
- It's around $10 extra per activity.
- It’s ridiculous! They make us pay to rent the place (which is really high) and then you have to pay to do anything! Archery is $3 per person per hour, canoeing is $10 per person per hour, ropes course is $85 for 4 hours, swimming is also per person per hour (but never used it).
- Lakota - you can tent camp for free, but if you want to use the buildings which are almost mandatory in the current drought (fire danger prevents outdoor cooking so you need indoor kitchen) they are EXPENSIVE.
- Lifeguards are $25 hour. Archery $15 hour.
- Low ropes 12, High ropes 15 - per girl. Archery I think is 10.00 per person
- Lows, badge programs, wall, et cetera average $5-10 per girl.
- Many of these activities are unavailable during troop camping because there is no certified staff. They have also failed to develop a cadre of volunteers (or even paid consultants) that could assist with most activities. Leaders cannot be expected to certify in every activity their girls want to try.
- Minimum is $23.00 for 1 1/2 - 1 hours.
- Most activities are about $5-$8 per participant. Horses and challenge course are $15 - $25, depending on the activity.
- Most of the activities are only offered at summer camps. Canoes are available to rent at camps though.
- Most of these activities are not offered at the camps closest to us.
- Most start at $15 per person and go up to $45 per person. Way more than my girls can afford!
- Most stuff is $15/girl or more. Nothing is free except Frisbee golf but you must rent the camp for the day.
- My council charges $20 per person for the weekend - same for just one night, this includes use of the archery equipment and canoe equipment, but we must bring our own trained person. swimming is only offered during the summer at resident camp, horses are only summer camp or specific day trips- different cost, we have low ropes, but it is never offered, no zip line or winter stuff
- Never have been able to do added activities due to not enough trained staff to supervise.
- Not offered individually
- Not sure at this time of all costs. Last year my troop wanted to go horseback riding and parents were in agreement until they found out the high cost. Only 2 of my 18 girls went because the cost was too high.
- Not sure on pool but archery is $10 and bows not maintained well
- Not sure what the fee is because I have the training needed for the activities.
- Nothing is free
- One fee should cover all offered activities. That being said - fees in general put camp out of reach for my troop. Even the do-it-yourself sessions are very costly. When planning for an overnight for my troop we always look outside of Council owned property because we can find places to go that are closer, more accessible, and much less expensive.
- One set price
- Our camp has a pool, high/low ropes course, and archery though there is a lack of staff to run any of them.I know at one time it was an add-on to weekend rentals, but it's been years since I've seen any of it used for Troop camping.
- Our council charged 25 to 50 per person to camp on the grounds
- Our council does not over a lot of these things. We find council approved properties and do it on our own. Archery is only for 4th grade and above. When boys are allowed to do so much more it seems a little over protective and not teaching our girls to be women
- Our council offers a specific date for troop camping so there are not options.
- Our council only charges more for these activities because they have to have a council facilitator to lead the activities. Swimming is only open to rent the first two week in August.
- Our council used to offer camp programming for an extra cost that depended on number of staff needed and use of equipment but they no longer offer activities for troop camping.
- Our GS camp is very far away and is not a day-use camp (this is fine with us because the location and property is wonderful, but it just doesn't apply to this question)
- Pool costs $100 which does not include required lifeguards, they'll supply lifeguards for $5 per swimmer per hour. Canoeing/Kayaking/Paddle Boats $7 per person. Mountain biking $5 per person. Fishing $3 per person. Hayless Hayride-$25 per troop. High Ropes $15 per person. Low Ropes $8 per person. Portable Low Ropes $6 per person. Nature Box $5 per person. Orienteering $5 per person. Pontoon Boat Ride- $30 for a 30 minute ride for up to 12 people. Horseback Riding $16 per person. Pony Patch $12 per person. Rifles $6 per person. 2) Onsite Equipment Rental- Specialized program equipment (marked with *) available ONLY to council approved instructors. Please list instructors on page 4 of this packet and send copies of certification card(s). Item # available Cost per session *Archery Equipment (5 bows, 3 targets, 50 arrows) 1 set $25. *Canoeing Equipment / Kayaks (6 canoes, lifejackets, paddles) 1 set $35. *Paddle Boats (3 boats, 6 lifejackets) 1 set $35. *Portable Ropes course Equipment (bag of props, portable trolleys, A- frame) 1 set $15. *Low Ropes course equipment 1 set $40 Portables & Low Ropes Equip. *Climbing wall Equipment 1 set $25. *Riflery equipment 1 set $25. Flag ceremony 1 set No Charge. 5 gallon Igloo coolers 8 No Charge. 48qt Ice chests 4 No Charge. Gas Grill 4 No Charge. Tub Stove 3 No Charge.
- Pool is $25 / hr (you provide your own life guard), canoes $30 / hr, archery is $3 per person per hour, ropes course - $50 for half day
- Ranges from $10-$100
- Ranges from $5-20 per person
- Rental of Achery equipment and site is reasonable
- Rental of equipment, where does this money go? Council is not purchasing new equipment.
- Riding led horses for younger girls $7 for about an hour. Older girls pay $20 but get a longer time and maybe trail ride. Prices just changed so don't know about other costs. (Was a flat $50 each for archery and canoes, plus the gas money for instructor and lifeguard. Now it is based per girl.)
- Swim $5, archery $5, horses: $30 trailride, $30-75 horse badgework
- Swimming $3pp for two hours! Archery is for half day - would be happier to pay it if the equipment was maintained (it isn't!!)
- Swimming $2, Archery $6, Canoe $2-$5?, Horse groom $5 plus western boots that my girls don't have and we're not buying, that's much more than rubber boots. Horse ride $15 maybe. Juniors and up, under 200 lbs, I think.
- Swimming and canoeing $2 each. Archery and horse love hug and groom $5each. I think horseback riding is more
- Swimming I know is $25 per hour for the pool and you need to bring your own lifeguard. Archery they charge $7 per girl when I know it only costs $25 a day to rent the archery equipment.
- Swimming is $20 for 3 hr session, pool only, lifeguard not included. Archery is $15 for 3 hr session, facilitator not included. Horseback riding is $25-30 for an all day program but riding for +/-1 hour. Riding is $20 per hour without program. High/Low Rope (Challenge Course) does not have an amount as there are very few instructors (3-4 people!) for this and price is not given freely. Zip Line is part of the High/Low Ropes/Challenge Course in the one camp of 5 camps that offer this. Not separated. Canoeing is $2 per boat per 3 hour session. Certified instructor not included.
- Swimming is a fee of $. Ropes are $30/ girls for high ropes/ zip lines. That includes trained staff.
- Swimming is expensive if the pool isn't already filled and there isn't already a lifeguard available. Archery, canoeing and sing-a-longs are around $5 a girl. Horseback riding is more, around $25 or so.
- Swimming: $6.00 pp (2 hour session), Swimming: $8.00 pp (4 hour session), Recreational Boating: $8.50 pp (2 hour session) X number of participants (24 max), Recreational boating only: paddle boats, funyaks, canoes, Brownie Boating: $10.00 pp (2 hour session) (24 max), Canoe: $12.00 pp (2 hour instructional) (22 max), Archery: $12.00 pp (2 hour instructional) (24 max), Challenge Course I: $12.00 pp (2 hour session) no more than 24 in group, Challenge Course II w/zip line: $15.00 pp (2 hour session) no more than 24 in group, Climbing Wall $15.00 pp (2 hour session) (24 max) Challenge Course I or Teamwork & Teamplay are prerequisites, Temwork &Teamplay $8.50 pp (1.5 hour session), Teamwork & Teamplay II w/zip line $13.50 pp (2 hour session)
- Swimming/pool - $40.00 per 2 hour block, Canoes & Archery. - $25.00.per 2 hour block
- The activities listed would be included in sleep-away camp fee.
- The camps that have activities that my girls would like to participate in are 3-4 hours away. And that is without much traffic. It is much easier for us to go to non-Girl Scout facilities where the girls can do the activities that they are interested in and it does not take us long to get there (under 2 hours)
- The cost is nominal...mostly a $3-$5 per girl range. I understand that they need to charge to pay instructors, life guards, and keep up equipment.
- The cost per person is often high; I would say a minimum of $25 per person for a small activity and really expensive for say horseback riding.
- The equipment is in SHAMBLES. Kayaks are in horrible shape, archery equipment is limited by working compound bows!
- The fees for overnight are very reasonable.
- The fees vary but are reasonable.
- The lower end activities are 8 dollars a scout
- There is a fee of $25 just to book a camping trip (used for property maintenance) in addition to the unit rental cost, generally $75-85. The cost is the same for one night or two. To do activities at camp there is a $25 fee in addition to the $15/hr/facilitator fees.
- There is a form to request these activities to be taught by a trained member of council. I have made the request 5 times & all 5 times, I have not received services.
- They are extra costs above the cost of summer camp. This is an optional cost and the horseback riding isn't at the camp. They take the girls off camp to get this experience.
- They charge $10.00 per area that we use for the swimming pool, lake and archery range. In addition a daily or night time fee per person. And an additional insurance fee (which I don't get since we should be covered but I think it is actually a property liability insurance cost).
- They don't provide life guards at swimming areas, we have to hire our own approved guard, which is part of the expense
- They have no outdoor activities at our council camps.
- They have some dumb tier system..... Of course everyone is going to choose the lowest price, so why tier it.
- They offer none of these. We have to go elsewhere.
- This is changing they used to not charge and are now going to add the fees as they HAVE added Paid staff. Personally I disagree with it as I have worked hard to get my certification and now they are not requiring it. Which will cause more problems than solve as we now have to schedule with their people on top of the parents and girls.
- This is hard to break down. One camp has nothing but primitive camping right now. The other one has some of these activities at summer established camp but none if you rent it for weekends during the school year.
- Those activities would only be available at a council event- not at troop campouts
- To do those activities while on a troop camp out we must supply our own trained leaders for those things i.e. lifeguard
- To my knowledge, the only additional cost is if you need someone to "run" the activity.
- TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Typically around a $10 activity fee + a per girl fee of $2-$3
- Unknown. Costs for such additional items can only be viewed while actually registering.
- Usually $5 a girl/activity. I think archery has increased to $9/girl
- Varies, swimming is the cost of having a life guard. Rest depends on age.
- Various prices for different activities, often depending on how many girls are there.
- We are required to pay the additional fee, usually per person, to pay trained personnel (such as a certified lifeguard) to cover the activity. Often the difficulty is identifying such a person, contacts or staff are not necessarily provided.
- We camp at our service unit encampment at a cost of $25/girl but I think our SU subsidizes some of the costs incurred.
- We don't camp at Council owned properties as a troop due to the High cost. For the Autumn adventures they went from $40 per person (2013)for the weekend to $65 (2014). I have a troop of 64. Some are multi-girl families. It is crazy to expect a family to pay that amount for 3 girls plus the leader.
- We don't offer any of them outside of troop or summer camp although our camps are equipped for all of them.
- We have none of these activities because of lacking of training and that training is never offered. Girls would love these but sadly our girls do not get to have what most think of as FUN Girl Scout activities
- We have none of these at our closest camp
- We have to pay for lifeguards for swimming and canoeing. I believe we paid $50 an hour (for 2 life guards). You can't even ride horses except during the horse camp weekends. For archery you also have to hire someone at $25 an hour to run that.
- We offer these activities at resident camp but otherwise they have to be volunteer led. Our resident camp is inaccessible in the winter.
- We OK horse facilities; don't have a council horse camp. We just started charging for Teams Course for the facilitator.
- Weekend camping with a horseback ride in an arena only is $95.00 per girl. Ropes and zip lining are no longer offered even though the course is at two camps.
- While we are not charged for swimming/water sports, we do have to pay for a Lifeguard. As far as other activities there must be a certified instructor to facilitate the program.
- You can rent the GS camp for your troop? We do SU Camporee elsewhere because of the price.
- You pay for a whole package.....2 nights.
- Zipline:30 bucks glut equipment, more if you need a trainer
